Did you know that 67% of Americans have no estate plan?

caring.com

The majority of US adults are leaving everything – their affairs, kids, pets, and assets in the hands of state laws and judges (COMPLETE STRANGERS).

Are you a part of that majority? Why do you think that is?

  • Because this is overwhelming and it feels impossible?
  • Because lawyers are expensive?
  • Because our daily responsibilities are already too much to handle?
  • Because, in our society, we don’t talk about death, and it’s hard to think about?
  • Because we don’t think it’s that important, anyway?
It's probably a combination of all of the above, huh?

I hope you hear me. If we do nothing, our families will pay through the nose. And this doesn't have to be a headache!

There are simple and REALLY affordable (also FREE) solutions out there.

I’m Terri Izard, Founder and Lead Instructor of Aging Agendas.

I’ve lost three parents and, believe me, I intimately understand how hard this can be. I’ve been left to pick up the legal and financial pieces. I’ve felt like the only idiot sitting in a conference room swivel chair and signing documents without any clue what they meant – just knowing that each question I asked costs hundreds of dollars. I know, from experience, what happens when you have a plan for passing…and what can happen when you don’t.

My mission is simple: to make the aging journey smoother for you and your family.
MORE ABOUT ME

You don’t have to do this alone!

This course is a great fit for those of you who…

  • deeply care what happens to your family, but you’re intimidated by attorneys.

  • can’t afford a drawn-out, expensive estate plan.

  • would do this yourself if you could figure it out, but you’re completely overwhelmed by all the conflicting information online.

  • procrastinate when you’re overwhelmed – so you cross your fingers and hope nothing bad ever happens.

  • are uncomfortable even thinking about death, much less making a plan for your passing.
  • have just lost a family member, and you’re trying to keep your head above the crashing legal waves you’ve been tossed into.

If this is you, take heart.

I’ve translated packets of legal jargon into language you will actually understand.

I’ve distilled information that would take you 60+ hours of searching on Google. (Believe me, I know.)

I’ve put it all in one place, step-by-step.

I’ll share my own stories and experiences with aging. (It’s part of the human experience – let’s just be honest about it!)

You’d be surprised how much of this can be DIY, and when you do choose a lawyer down the road…you’ll know exactly what you’re talking about.

"My greatest concern about getting my affairs in order was not having a clue what to do: LITERALLY! My frustration was in figuring out what questions to ask. I felt overwhelmed and not sure where to start. But now, I feel like I have direction and I can take it one step at a time. I like your positive, friendly, neighborly demeanor: it's like just sitting in your living room, listening while you share your experience and advice. I have already recommended the course to someone!"

I was afraid of the unknown: I just had no idea where to start and really didn't want to do this. But after watching, I felt comforted and set at ease. It is a great learning option and easy to get the information as well as the encouragement to get started.

- VICKI
Business Owner and Mom

Since we lost my partner's father to dementia, we have been talking about getting our affairs organized, but failed to take any action until we found this course. Terri gave us everything we needed to understand which bits of this complex subject were most important. This course gave us the confidence to make decisions. What incredible value!

Working Mom

If you’re a
details person,
let’s talk details.

Here’s the breakdown. In this course, we'll cover:
  • Wills
  • Trusts
  • Probate
  • Important Papers
  • Final Wishes
  • Settling an Estate
Module One Wills

If you do nothing else…do this! Wills are so easy (and can be free) to create and are sanity-saving for your family through grief and stress. Even if you don’t have much estate to pass on, you need to designate guardians for your dependents and pets at the very least. I’ll give you all your options, and walk you step-by-step through best practices and common mistakes to look out for.

Module Two Trusts

Trusts can be confusing and intimidating…but they can mean the difference between stability and foreclosure for your family…I’m not exaggerating. You will learn about the different types of trusts, how to establish one, and how your family can use it to pay your medical bills, funeral expenses, mortgage, etc. Fun fact, you can form a simple one in about 20 minutes!

Module Three Probate

Ah, the dreaded probate. Our goal will be to help you avoid it – but don’t let it intimidate you! We’ll also explain the process, costs, and timeline and connect you with useful resources to survive it if you're already in the middle of settling an estate. Plus, probate can actually be valuable in some circumstances, and we’ll show you why.

Module Four Important Papers

Some documents are extremely important and others…not so much. Your family needs to know what to do when you aren't there to point them to divorce papers, social security cards, account numbers, passwords, and so much more. We’ll show you how to point your family to funds, emergency contacts, and legal professionals.

Module Five Final Wishes

Another name for final wishes is "Advance Directives." You can leave specific instructions for your loved ones in the event of your incapacitation (think dementia, car wreck, coma, etc.). Your family will be upset, anxious, and forced to make the toughest decisions they’ll ever have to make. But you can lift some of that burden, by spelling out exactly what you want ahead of time

Module Six Belongings

No one wants to be caught in an avalanche of stuff. Whether you’re working through your own belongings (so your kids don’t have to), or trying to wade through an estate, we want you to have the tools you need to stay ahead of the clutter game. We’ll talk about organizing, storing, estate sales, auctions, jewelry, collectables, and more.

PLUS this course is jam-packed with bonuses to give you that extra support. We’ll talk about:
  • Powers of Attorney, how they’re different from your will, and why you need one.
  • dealing with tough emotions that could derail your progress.
  • insurance policies that will protect your loved ones from financial disaster.
  • tips and ideas, from personal experience, that could literally save you thousands.
And with these bonus PDF downloads, you’ll get the down-low on:
  • Caring for aging family members
  • Leasing a vehicle
  • (Pre)Writing an obituary
  • Avoiding common mistakes
  • Planning ahead for a medical crisis
  • Preparing relationships for your passing (and finding peace)

I promise, at the end of our time together…

  • You will feel educated and empowered.

  • You will be able to have intelligent conversations with the professionals.

  • You will save time and money: everything is right here.

  • You'll get multiple, inexpensive options.

  • You’ll (finally) have peace of mind.

If you’re wondering, “Is she a lawyer?” No.
A CPA?” Also no.

I’m a mom.
I’m a daughter.
I am an educator, and an advocate.
I’m a legal-to-laymen translator.

And (lucky you) you don’t have to pay me thousands $$$$ to explain your options.

Money Back Guarantee

My heart is to prevent the pain that so many families go through at a loved one’s passing (pain I’ve experienced). I want to hold your hand while you plan for your family’s future.

But, if this course is not able to support you, simply email us, within thirty (30) days of purchase to have your full purchase price refunded. As soon as we receive your request, your funds will be returned by the same payment method of purchase.

Ok...here’s something none of us want to talk about.

(Or think about.)

But it would be irresponsible of me not to tell you what could happen to your family if you don’t put something in place. I’m not trying to upset you, but I need you to know how important this is – and it’s really not about money or material things.

“Getting your affairs in order” can feel like legal and financial mumbo jumbo that doesn’t really matter, but each step is vitally important. In a lot of ways, your incapacitation is logistically tougher on your loved ones than your death.

  • If you don’t have a will, your kids could go to foster care while the courts decide who gets them (and that could take six months).
  • If you don’t have a will, your beloved pets go to animal shelters because the first responders have to do something with them.
  • If you don’t have a will, your partner of 23 years could get nothing and become homeless if you aren't married and you don't leave your possessions to them.
  • If you don’t create a trust, and you get into a car accident and fall into a coma, your family won’t be able to access your accounts and pay your mortgage, medical bills, etc.
  • If you don’t designate a power of attorney, your loved ones legally can’t make medical decisions for you. And you might end up with treatments or care that you didn't want.
  • If you don’t have an advanced directive, your loved ones won’t know what medical treatments you’re comfortable with, and you’ll lose your chance to have a say in your own care.
  • If you don’t gather your important documents, your family will be pulling their hair out trying to find everything they need – divorce decrees, birth certificate, social media passwords, banking information, the list goes on.

Being crushed by the pressure of forms, court dates, expenses, and family drama while you're grieving? That's not what we want for our loved ones.

Even if it’s just a bare-bones solution,

something is better than nothing.

Pick your least bad option. If you don’t, a complete stranger (a judge) will make these decisions for you and your family.

The pain is preventable.

Now, if you’re a woman, you need to be paying particular attention.

It’s unfair, but women are largely left to deal with the legal and financial burdens for their families and their partners. To add insult to injury, many legal, financial, and medical professionals discount and dismiss women – this world wasn’t built with us in mind.

“What I kept seeing was that the advisors weren’t focusing on my mom, who was the client, or me, the actual decision-maker. Instead, they were addressing my baby brother.”

Ashley Bleckner, Private Wealth Advisor

Statistically:

  • You’ll have the final say in your estate. If your partner is a man, it’s statistically likely that you’ll outlive him by 5-10 years.
  • You’ll be heading up the end-of-life administrative work for your parents. (JP Morgan)
  • You’ll be doing the lion’s share of work to care for your aging parents. (Institute on Aging 2016)
  • You’re more likely to know the contents of your parents’ will or living trust. (caring.com)
  • You might get blindsided by financial issues like 56% of your peers (UBS)
Take it from women who have been through this: 98% of divorcées and widows advise women to take an active role in finances now. (UBS)
